Portable Exhibition - Bonn
To mark the city partnership between Bonn and Oxford in 2022, the BBK Bonn, Rhein-Sieg e.V. (Bundesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler) began an artistic exchange with the Oxford artists’ collective PORTABLE. In a joint, collective project, 100 works of art were created, which were exhibited in Bonn in 2023 and in Oxford this year. With the “Portable” exhibition, the Oxford artists are now presenting their own works in Germany for the first time. Among them are: Anne Grifiths, Mark Clay, John A. Blythe, Miranda Miller, David Barron, Penelope Brook, Ella Clocksin, Emmett Casley and Deborah Pill.
We are extremely pleased about this British contribution to our increasingly international exhibition canon and about the cooperation with the BBK Bonn, Rhein-Sieg e.V., which has made this transfer possible.
With this exhibition, we would like to explicitly strengthen the inner-European dialog between art and artists and prove on a small scale that mutual cultural interest does not come to a standstill despite all the political adversities that have made uncomplicated exchange considerably more difficult since Brexit.
